Utility Relay Company, a leading manufacturer of micro-controller based, true RMS solid state trip units for AC and DC power circuit breakers, prides itself on the quality of products, customer service, and the fact they are a USA Manufacturer. URC offers a range of products for the low voltage trip unit retrofit market.

URC is also a leading manufacturing of low voltage circuit breaker upgrade kits. The Kit Ordering Guide (KOG) is they system that willt take you through a variety of questions to narrow down what you are looking for and pop out a product number to order. URC offers over 4,500+ kits and are constantly working to come out with more. See below to read more about what is offered and view the newly developed kits.

Below are four featured products, but to view all of the products offered including the AC-PRO-MP®; and QUICK-TRIP®;, visit our product page today. Be sure to contact URC at 888.289.2864 or at URCSales@UtilityRelay.com with any questions you may have.

AC-PRO-II

AC-PRO-II®;

The AC-PRO-II®;, which is 55% smaller than the AC-PRO®;, is a solid state, true RMS sensing overcurrent device for use on 600 volt class AC breakers. It has the standard trip unit functions of Long-Time, Short-Time, Instantaneous, and Ground Fault. The AC-PRO-II®; also includes features such as our patented Sluggish Breaker®; detection, RS485 communications port with ModBus protocol, time stamping of events, waveform capture, and configurable alarm relay. Also, to ensure that the AC-PRO-II®; will function when needed, it was tested to the ANSI C.37.59 standards for fault interruption.
As a result of this testing, the
AC-PRO-II®; is UL listed on a variety of breakers.

AC-PRO®;

The AC-PRO®; trip unit is a solid state, true RMS sensing overcurrent device for use on

600 volt class circuit breakers.

The AC-PRO®; comes standard with Long-Time, Short-Time, Instantaneous, Ground Fault, and Phase Unbalance protections as well as an optional RS485 communications port with ModBus protocol. Each of these protective features can be turned on or off at any time except for the Long-Time setting. The units do not use ratings plugs and have a programmable CT rating. These features allow one unit to be used in a wide variety of different breakers. Along with the ability to be used with numerous breakers, the AC-PRO®; is UL listed on a variety of breakers as well.

Check out the product page for the AC-PRO®; to learn more about the features and what it has to offer.

SAFE-T-TRIP

SAFE-T-TRIP®;

Reduce arc flash risk and determine if the breaker mechanism needs service with

the SAFE-T-TRIP®; device. All of the URC trip units that are compatible with the SAFE-T-TRIP®; device also have the patented Sluggish Breaker®; detection system. Sluggish Breaker®; detection determines if the breaker mechanism needs service as indicated by slow operation during the first trip. The SAFE-T-TRIP®; device provides a means for an operator to trip (open) a circuit breaker without standing directly in front of the breaker while it opens. This added distance from the breaker reduces the arc flash risk to the operator. This hand held device has a control panel and comes with a 5 meter USB cable. The SAFE-T-TRIP®; is compatible with the AC-PRO-II®; and the AC-PRO-MP®;.

Retrofit Kits

Utility Relay Company couples its trip units with complete retrofit kits designed to be easy to install and reliable. The retrofit kits come complete with everything needed to completely retrofit a breaker. We make sure that the only thing you will need to supply to install one of our kits are tools.

Retrofit Kit Eaton_MagnumDS Every kit is coupled with an installation manual that clearly outlines all the steps necessary to
complete the installation. The manuals contain detailed drawings and photos for clarity. We also
provide templates to simplify finding the location of holes that may need to be drilled in the
breaker. Based on the trip unit that was previously installed on the breaker we will also provide
extra copper if needed. We have all the details and parts that you will need to complete the retrofit.
All you need to supply us with is the nameplate data and any trip units or accessories installed
on the breaker. We will send you everything you need.

We offer over 4,500 kit options based on your specific needs. A few examples of newly developed kits we offer are:

  • Eaton, Magnum DS
  • GE, WavePro
  • Siemens, SB
  • Square D, SEF/SED
  • Westinghouse, SPB
  • Siemens, WL
