Basic Communication System

A basic communications system is fast, easy, and cost effective to install and maintain. The system requires only a minimal amount of hardware and cabling to make the physical connection between the trip units and the computer. The system uses the standard MODBUS protocol over a shielded-twisted pair cable. Basic systems can be easily incorporated into larger communications systems at any time. |

Workstation Communication System
Workstation-based communications systems are best suited for continuously monitoring multiple substations using simple shielded-twisted pair communications cabling. This solution is best suited for facilities that have multiple substations located in close proximity to one another. |

Network Communications ( LAN & WEB )
With the addition of a Local Communications Interface (LCI), remote substations can be connected directly to a Local Area Network (LAN), eliminating the need to run additional communications cabling. An LCI can also be added to Workstation-Based Communications Systems, which is useful when connecting distant substations without the need to run a twisted-pair wire.
The LCI also has built-in web pages that make that make substation monitoring over a network easier. Simply type the IP address of the desired LCI into your web-browser (e.g.- Netscape or Internet Explorer) to monitor the status of your substation.
