LCI

LCI Module communicates with AC-PRO with MODBUS, RS-485 and Ethernet

The LCI (Local Communications Interface) is a substation monitor designed to simplify the installation and management of Utility Relay Company’s communicating trip units and relays.

Up to 32 trip units can be daisy-chained together and wired directly to the LCI’s RS-485 MODBUS communications port. The LCI then continuously monitors all of the trip units connected to the daisy-chain. Real-time information from the trip units will be continuously updated and displayed on the LCI’s 4-line X 20-character LCD. At any time, the LCI can be used to interrogate a specific trip unit to get information such as 3-phase currents, voltages, KWH, Alarm Conditions, Trip Data, Trip Settings and more.

Ready for a Bigger Network?

The LCI’s built-in Ethernet port allows it to be connected directly to a Local Area Network (LAN) and act as an Ethernet gateway. This allows access to the information at the trip units from a remote computer on the network – like the one in your office – using a MODBUS over TCP/IP driver. Most of the popular HMI/MMI software packages available today include a MODBUS over TCP/IP driver.
